An Uneventful Doctor's Visit
I went to the doctor this morning. We listened to the baby's heart beat. And I went home. No stopping to check my cervix. No sending me to the hospital. Just an appointment to come back and listen to her heart beat again next week and a promise to call him if anything changes. Yay!
Hive 07 -- Day Two Pics!
Keri brought it to my attention recently that we never posted the day 2 pictures from last year's Hive. And, to thank her for bringing me my favorite pizza last night (Sweet Tomatoes pepperoni and garlic.. yum! Thanks again, Keri!), I decided to upload the pics for her. :)
This picture is a reminder of why we weren't in a rush to get the pics out... this is one of the best pictures of the kids that we got. And as far as I can tell, it's a three-way tie for most pathetic unhappy face.
Check out the other 108 pictures in my gallery!

My Mother's Day Gifts
My gifts from Halle:
My favorite Mother's Day gift from Halle was hearing her sing the Mother's Day songs she learned at school for me. She learned two songs; one of them she learned in both English and Spanish. She sang them both very well, and sang them often over the weekend. I still have one in my head. "Mommy takes good care of me, care of me, care of me..." So cute to hear her sing this to me! She also kept saying "Happy Mother's Day" at random times throughout the day, which always brought a smile to my face. And, she brought home super sweet handmade gifts from school, including a magnet with her smiling picture and some tissue paper flowers.
My gifts from Elena:
Elena was a very good girl this week and stayed inside me without fuss so that I could leave the hospital and spend Mother's Day at home. She also kept her heart rate and vitals up perfectly during our hospital stay and never gave me a scare. Thanks, sweetheart!
My gifts from Jason:
Not only did Jason do the normal sweet Mother's Day stuff like make me breakfast and give me a sweet card from him and Halle, Jason has given me the ULTIMATE Mother's Day present... he's become the Mother in this family! I can't express enough my appreciation for everything he has done these past few days. He's easily picked up the responsibilities of grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry (even folding it and putting it away!), taking care of Halle. He even cleaned out the fridge this weekend! He's planning all our meals. He also found time to take Halle to the pool Saturday and Sunday and hasn't complained once about any of it. He's actually becoming a role model for the Mom I want to be!
I couldn't feel any more blessed!

Yes, I'm Home!
Sorry I didn't sign on yesterday to update, but I came home late morning yesterday. Enjoyed a wonderful day resting on my VERY comfortable couch. Eating VERY tasty food that was not made in a hospital cafeteria. And watching my toddler do things I swear she couldn't do four days ago. Crazy how much a toddler can change in four days. Then, I slept in MY OWN BED and it was like being in heaven, all night long.
I have a lot of Mother's Day things I'd like to blog about later, so stay tuned for a lengthier post soon. :)

A Sweet Visit
Now that I'm happy, disconnected and clean, I finally felt up for a visitor. And what a sweet visit it was. Erica came over bearing the absolute best gifts. This girl seriously keeps outdoing herself.
Check out her blog to see details of the AMAZING items she sewed for baby Elena. I'm still in awe that this stuff is all for me (well, and Elena)! She knows me SO well. The patterns, the colors, the styles. Everything is just perfect.
She also bought several packs of preemie and newborn onesies and pjs, and washed them all, and brought them here just in case Elena made a surprise visit this weekend. And even sewed Elena's name on some of them. Unbelievable.
And, as if that wasn't all enough, she baked me HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES TOO! Some cookies have white chocolate chips. Some cookies have semi-sweet chocolate chips. And some have both. Could I be any more spoiled?
Apparently I can, because I even convinced her to bring her camera and take a picture of me so I could blog properly. You know, with a photo. I've been falling in love with The Pioneer Woman all day (seriously, where have I been?) and I just HAD to have a photo for my next post. Erica understands and puts up with me. Oh how I love her. :)
Once again, Erica, I love you! Your generosity astounds me time and again. I am soooo grateful for every single second that you spent thinking of me, shopping for the perfect fabrics, picking out patterns, sewing, baking, driving all the way up here to visit me. It does not go unappreciated!
Looking Forward
Less than an hour til I'm off the meds, disconnected from all these wires, and IN THE SHOWER.
About 24 hours (or so) til I'm back at home. Oh mama.
And just a few weeks, I suspect, til I get to meet my new little lovebug for real.
:) Feeling pretty good right now.

Hanging in
Not much to report. Still feeling pretty good, considering. Ate dinner AND kept it down. How can I complain? :)
Tomorrow around 1 I should be off the meds. Looking forward to that like you wouldn't believe.
Me Update
Well, I'm on the computer. So that's good news. My vision is blurry from the low blood pressure, and I'm pretty drowsy, so bear with me.
The quick recap of my stay so far is: really crappy day yesterday, fairly peaceful night, really crappy morning this morning, fairly peaceful right now.
Baby is looking good. Contractions picked back up this am, but doc said I'm still at 1cm, so she's not coming out just yet. Looks like I'll be going home Saturday.
This actually wore me out, so I'm going to rest now. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. More later.

"Baby Erin"
Halle opened the fridge just now and asked for some "Baby Erin"... which is apparently Sugar Free Dulce de Leche Jello cups. When she finished her cup, she asked for more Baby Erin. :)
On an unrelated note, I bought 100% carrot juice from Publix (ingredients: carrots). I've been giving it to Halle instead of fruit juice, and she drinks it right up. Every cup of juice is still 50-75% water, so she basically drinks a glass of water with a side of carrots. Pretty sweet.
