My Big Girl

Halle had her first day in the 2 year old class today. And she did great! I brought her in and walked her around the room, pointing out the toys that I knew she would enjoy playing with. Then sat down and read two books with her (and every other kid in the class.. which is like 5 kids.. came and sat by us to listen.. it was cute). After that, I said, "Mommy is leaving. Bye-bye, Halle." She said bye and gave me a kiss and that was that! Teacher said she had a great day. I'm glad she adjusted to the new room, new teacher, and new classmates so well. They brought another little girl from the one year old room in today too (they like to bring them up in pairs so they have a friend). I noticed when I picked Halle up that the other little girl was back in the one year old room. Wonder if she didn't adjust as well. Who knows. I'm just glad Halle's first day went well and we don't have to go through the three weeks of crying when Mommy leaves all over again. :)

Also, I'm proud to report that Halle is finally identifying colors! She got this milestone in before her second birthday. :) She identifies red, yellow, blue, and white (and sometimes pink). She knows green, purple and orange too but won't say them when I ask her (but if I say hand me the green crayon, she hands me the right one). I love to see things click in her brain. :)

Love to watch them grow up! I can't believe Halle is such a big girl. Wish we could be at the birthday party! Give her a kiss from all of us.
