Since leaving Harris four days ago, there have been many moments when I've sat back and smiled and thought to myself "This is my life now." A few of those moments were: snuggling on the couch with Halle reading one of her favorite books; watching Halle clap and dance to the Dora "We did it!" song; not waking up to an alarm clock this morning!; and taking Halle on a morning stroll. This is my life now. I love it!
Halle just walked 5 steps! While I was typing this blog! I thought, because she's waited so long to walk, that she'd take off as soon as she realized she could, but apparently that's not the case with this little peanut. She's taken one or two steps several times now over the past couple weeks. This 5-step walk is the first time I've seen her take more than two steps though.
***Saved this as a draft because I couldn't finish it earlier. Jump to several hours later.***
Halle walked so much tonight!!! I think its hilarious that it took a dirty diaper to entice her! She loves pulling the elastic tabs off and putting them back on. Anyway, we used the dirty diaper to get her to walk several times (and Jason got it on video!). Then we switched to a rolled up clean diaper, and that worked too. And eventually to the cell phone, which also worked. She squealed with delight as she walked, and it made me so happy that it happened to be on my first day of this new stay-at-home job (and just one day after Mother's Day). Great timing, Halle!!!
So, this is my life now! Working a new job. Cutting my hours in half. Watching Halle hit her milestones. I couldn't possibly be any happier! :)

Yea Halle! And it looks like she really has the hang of it too!
We definitely need to get the girls together more often now that you're available more during the day. They'll have so much fun. :D
I'm so happy for you. I'm sure you are going to love your "new life".
I hope to see you guys in a few weeks, then again in June. Halle will really be a great walker by then. I am so glad you were there to witness it. Congratulations on staying home. What is the website for your new business?
That video is so cute - what's cuter is the look of pure joy on your face and the excitement in Jason's voice when Halle is taking her steps! Glad you are loving your new "life" :)
