... to delete mamakonicki from your blog list... :) Wow, can't believe it's been three months since I last posted. In October I went back to work fulltime, hence the lack of free time for reading and posting blogs. In November, we did our traditional get-the-house-ready-for-Thanksgiving clean, paint, purchase fest. We bought a new couch and stand alone fireplace for the loft and painted the walls a dark teal color. December was full of baking, shopping, wrapping and traveling. Which leads me to the real topic of this update...
BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!! Have you ever had one of those Christmases where you got a bunch of stuff you didn't really like and wondered where the spirit of Christmas had gone? Not this year, baby! We had an absolutely wonderful holiday. First, our neice was born on December 21st. Rebecca Evelyn DuBay was born 9 lbs 10 oz, 23 inches long, healthy and beautiful! We were thrilled to see her in the hospital and start the holiday off with such a blessing. In the span of just a few days, we got to enjoy spending time with some of our favorite people on the planet. We went from house to house visiting people, and enjoyed every minute of it. And we got amazing gifts this year. Seriously, every gift I got was perfect. And everything that was bought for Halle was perfect too. She got the most adorable outfits and some great toys and books and keepsake ornaments. Halle wasn't as into the present opening as I had hoped, but she absolutely loved hanging out with her family and she has really taken to her new toys. After Christmas we drove up to North Carolina to hang out with Mike and Angelle and Leah and had a blast there. It was relaxing and fun, we had great food, played fun games. We enjoyed hanging out with their friends too, and all the kids. My favorite parts of the trip were Leah's adorable vocabulary (it is so cute to hear a 19-month-old say "Oh no!" or "No way!" or "Milky!"), watching Halle interact with the other kids, dinner at Maggianos (yummmmmm), and our many games of Times Up (thanks, Air, that game was a hit!).
Since we've been back, Halle has started playing with a dollhouse that she got for Christmas from my parents. I can't believe what a big girl she is! She puts the little people into the different rooms of the dollhouse, and entertains herself for a long time doing this! I can't believe my little baby girl is going to be a year old in about 6 weeks!!
Lunch break is over. Gotta get back to work. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!!
