New Recipes

I'm bored of the same old same old around here, so I've decided to try these recipes. They all seem like easy weeknight meals, and they've all received great reviews from allrecipes.com. I'm posting them here so I have a place to go to easily find the recipes all week, and I figured someone else might find something worth trying here too. I'll update the post after trying the recipes to let you know if we enjoyed them. :)
  • Soy Garlic Steak *This was pretty tasty, although it didn't quite live up to my expectation for it. There are so many other ways we enjoy steak, that I probably wouldn't make this again.
  • Easy Baked Tilapia & Veggies *Had this Thursday night. The fish was ok, but the veggies didn't cook well. I don't really recommend this one.
  • Pesto Chicken Florentine
  • Chicken Fajita Pizza *This was pretty good! See blog post above for more details.
  • Tasty Orange Pork Chops *These were delicious! Next time I'd probably throw something in there to make them a little spicy too, but the flavor was very, very good. We ate them with Caribbean rice and corn on the cob, and it was a wonderful dinner.
Also, if anyone has some suggestions for their favorite veggie side dishes, I'd love to hear them!

You know I'm not much of a cook, but I get most of my recipes from kraftfoods.com. I love their website because there are so many things that you can search by, you can create a "recipe box" of your favorites and even make notes on a recipe after you've tried it. They even have a "shopping list" where you can add all of your recipes that you want to prepare to your shopping list and it will add all of the ingredients to the list, allow you to remove ingredients you already have, and sorts it all by department (produce, spices, etc.).

So.. can I come over for dinner? :) haha!

Thanks Nikki! We eat Talapia, pork chops, and chicken every week over here and we are always looking for different ways to fix them! I do have a few suggestions for sides...I love Uncle Ben's Ready Rice. You stick them in the microwave for 90 secounds and they are great :) They come in many different flavors and they feed all four of us! Also, we cut up various veggies and throw them on the grill. Put them in foil with a little bit of olive oil...they always turn out tender and yummy!
Thanks again for the recipes!

This is how I make my green beans.
fresh green beans, snap the ends off and then snap in half.

boil until tender. drain.

I crush a clove of garlic into the pot (with my garlic press), add olive oil, enough to coat them nicely and Everglades seasoning (this stuff is the best! You can find it in Publix with the salts and spices). They are good warm or cold.

They always seem to be a hit and it's really easy!

I will post a roasted chicken recipe soon that is AWESOME and super easy.

For veggies, I often chop up whatever I have and put a pit of kosher salt, cracked pepper, and olive oil on them. I put them on a baking sheet and roast them for 30-40 minutes at 400. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, zucchini, squash (any kind).
