Doctor's Appointment

At my doctor's appointment today I learned that:
  1. I failed the one-hour glucose test. I have to go in tomorrow for the three-hour test.
  2. My iron is low.
  3. I'm showing signs of a painless UTI which I've had before and although wonderfully painless, the antibiotics to treat it last a week and have to be taken twice a day on an empty stomach. There are strict rules about how many hours you can eat before and after, so an entire week of scheduling my meals around pills. Pretty annoying. But this particular type of UTI is dangerous for the baby so we have to make sure I don't have it during labor or I can pass it along.
  4. I'm measuring 3 weeks big. Could be nothing, or could be another sign that I have gestational diabetes.
  5. This was the week I had to pay my portion of the doctor's costs ($300).
  6. I've gained 25 pounds already.
But the best thing I learned today:
All these Braxton Hicks contractions have not affected my cervix yet, and I am not in preterm labor. Woohoo!

Wow, what a day! I'm sorry you have to go through all that, Nik. What's 3 weeks big mean?
